CORE Leadership Workshops

“Aspiring to be a leader?”
“Do you want to be a leader on campus, but only have had leadership
experience in high school?”
“Learn how to be a successful leader!”
“Learn how to run a successful organization!”
“Want to learn how to improve your organization?”
Come to CORE’s workshop, which is geared to teach you the specifics of
being an effective leader of a successful organization. Workshops are lead
by CORE Consultants, who are experienced and award-winning student leaders
on campus with plenty to teach! All students are welcome, no matter what
your background in leadership may be!
The CORE Consultants present a set of two workshops that are geared to teach you the specifics of being an effective leader of a successful organization.
WEEK 5, Workshop 1 : Funding, Publicity, Large Scale Programming, Club Pride
Thursday, February 5th @ 4 PM in the CORE Office, Office of the Dean of Students
WEEK 6, Workship 2 : Effective Committees, Icebreakers, Member Retention
Thursday, February 12th @ 5 PM in the CORE Office,Office of the Dean of Students

On Wednesday, February 11th, Classroom Technology Services is being reviewed. CTS is the unit responsible for the creation and maintenance of the smart classrooms across campus (teaching podia, computers, projectors, etc.). The review committee has asked for the opportunity to speak with a diverse group of students about their experiences in the classroom. This meeting will be from 10:15 to 11 in AIRB and, of course, drinks and snacks will be provided. If you’re interested in sharing your opinion, and partaking of the free goodies, please email Christina Luiz (cluiz@uci.edu) by the end of the day on Tuesday (tomorrow). Thanks!

Career Fest

Career Fest is a month-long series of panel presentations on various industries and careers by UCI alumni and community members. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about your particular career interests and network with professionals in various fields. Graphic Design Artist wanted for 2009 Battle of the Brains

If you are artistically inclined, have extensive experience with Photoshop or other image manipulation software, or are simply really good at creating awesome images, we would like you to apply for the position of Graphic Designer for this year’s Battle of the Brains. Your designs will be featured on the 2009 BotB T-shirt, banners, programs and more! The person who fills the position will be compensated for their efforts. If you can answer yes to any one of those questions, you should considering becoming part of the planning and organizing committee for this year’s Battle of the Brains. Plus, if you help us out, we will give you a free T-Shirt! It’s that time of quarter! Seventh week is the chance to meet your favorite professors at the illustrious Faculty Coffee Hour! Do you have a teacher that you would like to get to know over coffee and doughnuts? Are you curious about different research possibilities? Rub elbows with the best UCI has to offer!
E-mail us by THIS Thursday (Feb 5) with suggestions of professors you’d like to invite to Faculty Coffee Hour! In order to send invites to professors, we need the nominations as soon as possible.
