Upcoming Scholarship Opportunities

1. Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship

Attention all high achieving seniors with unmet financial need: If you will begin graduate or professional school in fall 2006 and would benefit from up to $50,000 a year for up to six years toward tuition, room and board, books, and fees, apply for the Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship.

To qualify, applicants must:

    * be a senior who will graduate by August 2009 or have graduated since spring 2004

    * have an annual family income below $50,000 (or unique family financial circumstances that merit consideration)

    * have been accepted into a full-time graduate degree program for fall 2009 (or will be accepted by late April)

      and

    * maintain a 3.75+ GPA.

UCI may nominate up to 2 seniors for this scholarship, which requires university endorsement. Candidates do NOT need to be U.S. citizens and may propose study in the U.S. or abroad.

To find out more and to access application materials, visit the website: http://www.jkcf.org/scholarships/graduate-scholarships/ . Strong first drafts of applications (including supporting materials) are due January 12 in the SOP office and may not be submitted directly to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.

NOTE: Don’t be intimidated by the approaching deadline! We’ve built in editing time before the UCI endorsement committee reviews applications and before final drafts are due to the Foundation.
