CHP T-Shirt designs due this week

Do you have an idea that would make a great CHP t-shirt?  Well, now is your chance to share it with the world!  Submit a high quality image of your design to Kyle Hosford (khosford@uci.edu) by this Thursday, November 20th.  After all submissions have been received, online voting will ensue, and the winner will be announced on November 25th.  Creator of the winning design gets a free shirt!

Be as creative as possible!  Do try to limit the number of colors in your design though, and hang on to your original files because if your design wins, we will be asking you for the file in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop format.  Have fun!

This Friday, the Center for International Education will be coming to Coffee Hour!  If you are interested in studying abroad, then you definitely don’t want to miss this opportunity to gather information and ask questions.  Those of you who have already gone abroad are welcome to come and talk to interested students as well.

Last week of the Penny Drive!

Don’t forget, the Penny Drive will end this Friday, November 21st at 11am!  You have until the end of this week’s coffee hour to deposit your pennies.  The jugs/boxes are located in the honors office, so feel free to stop by and drop off your change.  On Friday the jugs will be moved to the Locus, so be there for the exciting conclusion of the Penny Drive!  The full contest rules are available online.

Tutoring Reminder

Help is Available!  Classes got you confused? Perplexed? Stressed? We’ve all been there before! That’s why the CHP PAAs have organized a CHP-only peer tutoring resource list.  Come to the CHP PAA office and check out the list of tutors available!

There are tutors offered in subjects and classes spanning from the Honors Core classes to Music, Political Science, Math, Humanities, and more.  You tell us the area you need help in, and we’ll give you some contact information for available tutors.  Hours, pay, and other concerns will remain between the tutor and tutee.

Operation Christmas Child

Looking for a way to give back?  Operation Christmas Child provides the opportunity to give a gift to a less privileged child in a third world country.  All you have to do is choose a gender and an age group (2-4, 5-9, or 10-14), pack some practical gifts in a shoebox, include a little note if wanted, and bring it to a dropoff zone.  Vivian Nguyen has offered to take boxes to the dropoff zone, so if you want to make a shoebox this week, contact Vivian at nguyenvm@uci.edu .  Deadline is this Friday 11/24, so don’t delay!  Give today!  More info available online.
