If you have an unusual situation (i.e. Freshmen taking Social Science Core or Seniors taking any part of an honors core), you will need to notify us IN ADVANCE so we can approve you for the core you need to enroll in. All freshmen will be pre-approved for Humanities Core H1B and Chem H2B, H2LB. All sophomores & juniors are approved for Social Science Core H1E and Physics H90. If you do not fit in either of these groups, we need to know!

I will be accepting section requests from those who have scheduling difficulties (athletes, dancers, work schedules, and those who have irreconcilable course conflicts). But “preference” requests will not be granted, so please do not email me unless your situation only allows for one possible arrangement–All other requests will be ignored. Students requesting a particular section should still try to enroll when their window opens. In the event that your NEEDED section fills, please contact the honors office and we can help you.

Texas Feed ‘Em Poker Tournament

November 20, 2007

Tuesday, Week 8

Arroyo Vista House 1012

Check-in begins at 7:00 pm, with the tournament starting promptly at 7:30 pm.

(The yellow AV-Admin shuttle leaves every 20 minutes from the flagpoles.)

The “Texas Feed ‘Em” Poker Tournament is an annual CHSC community service event for all CHP students and friends!

This year, we are collecting non-perishable canned or boxed food items that will be donated to the underserved population of El Testerazo, Baja California, Mexico in collaboration with Golden Key.

Bring at least two (2) non-perishable canned or boxed food items as your “buy-in” to the poker tournament. No buy-ins other than non-perishable food donations will be accepted. Raffle tickets will be given out for additional food item that you bring and for advancing in the poker tournament rounds.

Everyone has a chance at receiving prizes during the prize raffle at the end of the night, so the more donations you bring, the more chances you have of winning! See you there! Free snacks and drinks will be served!

Poker Chips & Dealers!

Do you have a case of poker chips CHSC can borrow for the tournament?  We promise to take good care of them!  Do you fantasize about becoming a Vegas dealer? Do just like the thrill of shuffling cards?

We need chips and dealers, so please contact Community Involvement Chair, Amanda Wong (aawong@uci.edu) if you can help us out.
