Help for CHP advising/info sessions before SPOP 1 & 2

I know Ryan sent out a request earlier this month, asking for student volunteers to help with the CHP advising/info sessions, as well as the school advising sessions (where students will be registering for their classes).  But the notice went out during finals week, so I don’t know how many people saw it.  I did get a few volunteers, and thank you to those who responded.  Here’s what we need:

SPOP 1 is July 8-9; SPOP 2 is July 12-13.  The CHP advising sessions will be at 8-8:50 am, on the first day of each SPOP (so July 8 and July 12), and we will need a few students to help with registration at 7:45 am.

We’d also like to have 1-2 students who are willing share their honors Humanities Core experience (with at least one from this year, who had the new theme) and 1-2 who took the honors Chemistry sequence during the last few years (but these doesn’t have to be a freshmen).  New freshmen always have questions, so it’s VERY helpful to have continuing students there to meet them and share their experiences/perspectives.  We won’t have time for a student panel, but this would be a great opportunity for peer mentors to meet some of the new freshmen!!

In addition, the following schools asked if some of our students would be willing to help out with the school advising sessions that take place later that same day.  The schools who asked for CHP volunteers were:  Bio Sci, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Undecided/Undeclared, Arts (maybe), and the Merage School of Business.

Even though none of you are in the new Business Administration major, your help would be welcomed, since this is their first go around with summer advising, helping students register, etc.  If you are willing/able to help at SPOP 1 or SPOP 2 (or both); with the CHP advising session in the early morning, and/or a school advising session later on, please let me know ASAP.  If you can only help during the morning or afternoon, put your available time block in your message as well.

I will be on vacation next week, but please email me if you can do this.  If you have any questions, Ryan will be here next week too.

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give here.
