AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There’s Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fianceé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod — a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building’s superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.
In short, it’s a hilarious musical that’s coming to the Orange County P.A.C., and if you’ve never heard of it or heard of it and haven’t gotten the chance to see it yet, here’s your golden opportunity: we’re arranging tickets!  Ticket prices range from $10-$30 with our group discount, depending on where you want to sit.  The performance that we are looking at is Sunday, April 12th at 6:30 PM (and yes, unfortunately that IS Easter Sunday).
If you are interested in going that date, please send an e-mail to Sarah Barber (sbarber@uci.edu) BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, along with how many tickets you want and where you’d like to sit ($30 seating in rear-Orchestra or mid-Tier 1, $20 seating in mid-Tier 2, and $10 seating in rear-Tier 3).
WARNING: AVENUE Q may not be appropriate for some because it addresses issues like sex, drinking, and surfing the web for porn.
Disclaimer:  The Campuswide Honors Program does not endorse any material that may be presented in or for the AVENUE Q musical, and neither encourages nor discourages each student’s participation in this event, leaving that decision to the discretion of each individual.  In short, please do not send angry messages to the office saying that Avenue Q is offensive to you – they are not responsible.
