Chancellors Club Study Center (The Locus)
In 2004 The Chancellors Club at UCIrvine made a donation for the renovation of 1020A/B in Student
Services II, commonly know to the students as "The Locus", a focal point where Honors students
gather to study, have coffee hour, and hold council meetings. Along with generous donations from Alumni,
friends and CHP parents, the CHP was able to added new computers and a new printer to the study room,
providing valuable computing resources and a nice, quiet, safe environment to study in. The
Locus is also where Friday Coffee Hours and CHSC (Campuswide Honors Student Council) meetings will
be held throughout the year. It is open for student use M-F, 8 am—5 pm, unless otherwise noted on the
event board posted outside the entrance.
Nordstrom Room: Langson Library
THE NORDSTROM HONORS STUDY ROOM HAS MOVED. This study room, located on the 4th floor of Langson Library,
has moved to room 457, just down the hallway from its former location. The new Nordstrom Honors Room has
carpeting, robust wireless access, and plenty of power outlets for laptops. In the not-too-distant future
the furniture will also be upgraded in this room. Also at this time, a new door lock which operates with
a "card-key" will be installed to replace the current code access. You may obtain a card-key from the
Langson Loan Desk any time after the card reader is installed. Card keys will need to be checked out
and renewed quarterly; if lost, the fee for replacement is $10.
Science Libary Study Rooms
In the Science Library, there are six designated CHP study rooms. CHP students may call 824-3681 to make
group study room reservations. Between 7:30am-3 am Mondays through Thursdays, 7:30 am–9pm Fridays, 10am-9pm
Saturdays, and 10am-3am Sundays—the study rooms in the Library Study Center (Science Library 1st floor) are
available for checkout. You must have your campus photo ID (activated as a library card) with you to get a
study room key. Study rooms are available to groups of at least two students—they are not for individual study.
