Tanya Villegas
Office Manager

I am originally from New Orleans, LA and it can be said that I am a true Southern girl at heart. My parents were in the military and I spent most of my first 18 years hopping around the south and Bermuda with them. I went to 10 schools during K-12! I was an only child until I was 11 but now have 2 younger brothers, both of which are in high school. My parents moved to Northern California a year and a half ago, but the majority of my family still resides in various areas of The Big Easy, despite Hurricane Katrina. I am not a complete transplant to So Cal, however, as my grandmother and all of her family before her were born and raised in San Diego.

I graduated from Brooks High School in Killen, AL in 1999. I changed colleges and majors several times before deciding on Business Administration. I graduated from Faulkner University with my BS in 2004 and only NOW have finally figured out what I want to do with my life. I am currently planning to enroll in grad school in the Fall of 2009 to complete an accelerated program that will allow me to graduate with my Master's of Science in Nursing and also sit the State of California Boards for Registered Nurses. At that point, I will probably continue on to earn my Nurse Practitioner License but my ultimate goal is to earn a PhD in Nursing and to teach and do research at the University level one day.

I moved to Southern California on Halloween in 2005 from Atlanta, GA. My husband, Rod, was born and raised in Orange County and is a Special Agent with the Geek Squad. (Yes, he drives one of the VW bugs). Rod has a daughter from his first marriage, Reanna, who lives with us every other week and attends school in Irvine. Rod and I have a daughter of our own, Meagan, who is a handful and can often be found at CHP events. I love reading Harry Potter and mysteries, playing video games (Ryan and I camped out for the Wii together!!!), and anything technology related. I love "Friends" reruns, the NBC show "Heroes", and several shows on Fox including "Bones", "House", and "So You Think You Can Dance".

I have been with the CHP since December of 2005 and I love everyone in the office and getting to know all of the students. Please feel free to come by and see us anytime!

So Cal Rocks but, as was sung by Brooks and Dunn, "You can take the girl out of the honky tonk but you can't take the honky tonk outta the girl."
