I grew up in Central California, near Fresno (Central Valley pride!), before coming to UCI. As an undergrad, I majored in Psychology & Social Behavior with a minor in Digital Arts, before graduating in 2005. After living in Arroyo Vista CHP house 1020 my first two years (yes, that used to be a CHP house), I served as a House Assistant my junior and senior years for 1006 and 1012 respectively. It was during this time that I had a lot of contact with the CHP office, got to know its staff, and worked closely with them through housing and the CHSC (Campuswide Honors Student Council).
During my senior year, I was very anxious to apply for the position of Honors Advisor so I could stay at UCI and continue working with the program that I have come to love. It is my goal that every new student to our program feels comfortable enough to just visit us in the office even if you don.t have a specific question. Whether you're a new freshman, current student or alumni, please stop by the office to say hi and chat with me about anything! Student interaction is the biggest draw for me about this job, so your presence in the office is definitely welcomed and encouraged. I want to get to know you! I also enjoy just grabbing a cup of coffee (mocha) with students, so keep me in mind if you.re making a Starbucks run!
Anyone who visits my office can immediately see where my hobbies and interests lie, which include video games, anime, and movies. I'm constantly in search of new additions to my wall of figurines, new shows to become addicted to, (Heroes, Entourage, Nip/Tuck) or just plain obsessed with (Death Note, Bleach.both animes). So if you see me getting really excited about something, it's because I'm very passionate when it comes to my interests.
I hope to meet and greet all of you soon!
