Hello! I’m Jillian, a second-year literary journalism and history double
major. This is my second year on NAR staff; it’s also my second year
working in Mesa Court as a center attendant. I’ve lived in Valencia for
three years but I’m originally from New Jersey, and it still confuses me
when Californians pronounce the names 'Aaron' and 'Erin' the same way. I
like foreign languages, playing outside, and reading too much. I love how
creative CHP is and can’t wait to make NAR great this year!

Melissa Rose

My name is Melissa Rose; I’m a second year English major with a fiction
writing emphasis and a Spanish minor. I’m excited to be NAR’s new
co-editor in chief. I’m from Valencia, CA almost within walking distance
of Six Flags. I’m glad to be in Irvine because I like Disneyland much
better! My interests include those you’d expect of an editor of a creative
works journal: reading, writing and theater. I actually used to be
involved in a musical theater group but decided not to pursue this at UCI
due to my lack of singing and dancing ability. This is my second year as a
Mesa Court Center Attendant. When I’m not helping Mesa residents, I take
full advantage of lulls in my shifts to read or write (or both!). I hope
to read many great NAR submissions this year and meet a lot of
enthusiastic new staff members. |
